AI models for
e-commerce and fashion

Shops need a lot of images: every product, several views, new looks every season. AI models make it possible to produce on-model images without organising studio, model and shoot for every collection. Here is how it works and where the limits are.

01

What AI models are used for in a shop

Showing products on a model

Clothing and accessories on a model rather than only as a flat lay, including items that previously did not get a shoot of their own.

Variants

Colour and style variants and different views, without photographing every combination again.

Campaigns and social

Motifs for campaigns, newsletters and channels with the same face as in the shop.

Seasonal changes

New collections in the shop's defined look, without booking studio and model every season.

Different looks and scenarios

Setting, light and styling can be adapted without changing the model's identity.

Markets

Models and settings can be chosen to suit each market.

02

From flat lay to on-model image

This is how it went in the project On-model shots from flat lays.

  1. 01 Provide the flat lay

The goods are photographed as a flat lay or product photo, as before.

  2. 02 Define model and look

A synthetic AI model is set up as the shop's fixed face and locked per season.

  3. 03 The workflow transfers the item

A workflow transfers the garment onto the model and keeps cut, material and colour.

  4. 04 Quality control

A quality check per category reviews every image before it is approved.

  5. 05 Delivery in shop formats

The images arrive in all the formats your shop needs.

03

Synthetic model or digital twin in a shop?

Synthetic model

An entirely digitally developed face that serves as the fixed face of your shop.

  • No personality rights of a real person in the face
  • Look locked per season or brand
  • Good for catalogues with high volume

Digital twin

The AI version of a real person, licensed per campaign, term and territory.

04

Consistency across catalogue and campaign

A shop looks reliable when the same face appears across categories, seasons and channels. We achieve that with a fixed model, a locked look and a versioned workflow. New items run through the same process, so old and new images fit together.

In the project On-model shots from flat lays, all new items received an on-model image this way, without studio days per season. The project lists three hours from flat lay to live image.

05

Limits and quality assurance

Not every garment transfers equally well. Complex patterns, transparency, jewellery and fine details need more checking. That is why we check each category separately and assess problem cases together with you.

Images are labelled under the EU AI Act. Please also check the rules of your sales platforms, as individual marketplaces may have their own rules for AI-generated images. A cost overview is in the article AI model vs. a real model shoot.

Frequently asked questions

Does the garment stay true to the original?

The workflow transfers cut, material and colour from the product photo. For complex patterns or fine details we check particularly closely and agree on problem cases with you.

How quickly are the images available?

The project On-model shots from flat lays lists three hours from flat lay to live image. The timeframe in your case depends on scope, categories and approvals.

How does the cost compare with a shoot?

That depends on scope, categories and format. A comparison of the cost factors is in the article AI model vs. a real model shoot.

Who owns the model's face?

A synthetic model has no personality rights of a real person in its face; the usage rights are provided through Trickhouse. The details are set out in the order.

Can this be integrated into our shop or PIM?

Yes, through interfaces. What this can look like is described on the page Integrating generative AI into existing systems. What is possible in your system we check in a requirements workshop.
