The term "digital twin" sounds like science fiction. But it's no longer that at all. At Trickhouse, we create photorealistic AI versions of real people every day for campaigns, fashion content, and product presentations. But how does it actually work?
What Is a Digital Twin?
A digital twin is an AI-generated version of a real person. Based on reference photos, we train a model that photorealistically replicates the person's appearance, proportions, and presence. The result is a consistent digital character that can be used in nearly any situation without a single additional shoot.
What Do We Need for This?
The process begins with 10 reference photos. Six close-up face shots from different angles, two upper-body photos and two full-body photos. The more varied the angles, the better the results. The photos don't need to be professional, smartphone shots in good light are sufficient in most cases.
How Does the Process Work?
Once the photos are received, we first create test images. These are sent to the person for review, and only proceed further after explicit approval. No binding contract without agreement to the results. Only once the quality is convincing is the Digital Twin contract concluded.
What Is the Digital Twin Used For?
The possible uses are nearly unlimited. Clothing presentations, product staging, lifestyle content for social media, beauty campaigns, or brand ambassador content. The digital twin can be produced in any environment, lighting condition, and format.
Who Retains Control?
The person themselves. Every order is coordinated individually and can be declined without giving a reason. The digital twin is used exclusively for approved projects. Use is limited to 12 months and can be extended afterward.
What Do You Earn From It?
As a model at Trickhouse, you're compensated fairly and transparently, in line with industry standards for classic productions. You're paid separately for each project in which your Digital Twin is used. The amount depends on the medium, region and duration of the respective use. Whether online, print, national or international, you're fairly compensated for every type of use of your likeness. All earnings are listed transparently and paid out on the first of the month following the client's payment. A detailed breakdown of all projects and earnings can be requested at any time.
Conclusion
A digital twin isn't a thing of the future, it's a working technology that's already in use today. At Trickhouse, we've designed the process to be transparent, fair, and secure for everyone involved.
